How Bang Saen Beach Is Set Up

Bang Saen Beach stretches for nearly 4 kilometers — walking from one end to the other takes about 55 minutes. It’s divided into two main sections:
- Bang Saen Beach — this area is lined with umbrellas and sun loungers for visitors;
- Wonnapha Beach — a wider promenade with no umbrellas, ending at a small fishing pier.
One unique thing about Bang Saen: it’s mostly visited by locals. I hardly saw any foreigners.

Beach Hours and Facilities

The beach is open 24/7, but sun loungers are only available during set hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Friday to Sunday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM
A sun lounger costs 50 baht per person for the whole day. There’s a public toilet nearby — entry is just 5 baht.
Tides and Swimming Conditions
From morning until around 2:00 PM, Bang Saen experiences low tide — the sea recedes quite far. If you’re planning to swim, it’s best to come closer to sunset, around 5:30 PM.

Just a heads-up: when the tide comes in, it sometimes brings in debris. Maybe they clean it up during the high season, but I visited during the rainy season — so the beach was almost empty.

Parking
There’s public parking available all along the beach. Finding a spot is easy — the coastline stretches nearly 4 kilometers. It’s just a 10-meter walk from your car to the sand.
Smoking on the Beach

Smoking is not allowed on the beach. Designated smoking areas are provided nearby. Violating this rule can result in a fine of up to 100,000 baht or even up to 1 year in jail.
Things to Do at Bang Saen Beach

There’s more to Bang Saen than just relaxing under an umbrella. Here’s what you can try:
- Paramotor rides
- Banana boat and tube rides
- Jet skiing
- Building sandcastles during low tide
What to Eat at the Beach
Remember Wonnapha Beach, the one that ends at the fishing pier? Thanks to the local fishermen, you can always find fresh seafood at reasonable prices. For example, a plate of 12 large shrimp costs just 100 baht.

Also, from the northern end of the beach all the way to Click Café, there’s a nearly 2-kilometer stretch lined with street food stalls and souvenir vendors. So no worries — you definitely won’t go hungry here.

Where to Stay Near the Beach
When I looked for accommodation in Bang Saen, I found that Booking.com and Trip.com didn’t offer many options. The best value I came across — in terms of price and location — was The Sea Bangsaen Hotel, which can be booked on Booking for 957 baht a night.
For other good options, Agoda is your best bet. Here are a few well-rated places:
- Coasta — good-looking beachfront hotel
- Bangsaen Heritage Hotel
- Coco Beach Resort — beachfront, around $30 per night
- The Kite Hotel
- Amari Bangsaen — great property with beautiful grounds
