πŸš† Train from Bangkok to Koh Tao

This option requires purchasing separate tickets — one for the train and another for the Lomprayah transfer (bus + ferry). Keep in mind that Lomprayah does not operate the trains.

1️⃣ Bangkok to Chumphon by Train

Trains depart from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station, the main railway station in Bangkok.

The most convenient choice is Train No. 39, which leaves at 10:50 PM and arrives in Chumphon at 05:22 AM. Ticket price: 515 THB. You can book it here.

✈️ Flights from Bangkok to Koh Tao (via Nearby Airports)

Since Koh Tao doesn’t have its own airport, the only way to fly there is by landing at a nearby airport and continuing the journey by bus and ferry.

You can book a flight from Bangkok to one of these three airports near Koh Tao:

After landing, you’ll need to take a bus or van to the ferry pier, followed by a boat to Koh Tao.

Two Ways to Plan This Route:

  1. Book Separately
Buy a plane ticket on Airasia or another budget airline. Then purchase a separate bus + ferry combo ticket on 12Go:
    1. From Chumphon Airport to Koh Tao: around 1,000 THB
    2. From Surat Thani Airport to Koh Tao: 1,100–1,200 THB
    3. From Samui Airport to Koh Tao: 550–750 THB
  2. Book a Combo Ticket
A more convenient option is to buy a single ticket that includes the flight, bus transfer, and ferry — available for 2,200–2,600 THB on this site.
