🚌 Bangkok to Hua Hin by Bus

There are three main bus terminals in Bangkok where you can catch a bus to Hua Hin:
1️⃣ Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai)
This is the most common departure point. Buses from here arrive at various stations in Hua Hin, such as the Hua Hin Bus Station, Market Village, or the Hua Hin Air Bus Office.
2️⃣ Ekkamai Bus Terminal
Convenient if you’re staying in central Bangkok. Buses from Ekkamai usually arrive at the Hua Hin Minivan Station.
3️⃣ Suvarnabhumi Airport
This is the most comfortable and hassle-free option. Airport buses from Suvarnabhumi go directly to the RRC Bus Station in Hua Hin.
You might also come across offers to travel from Khao San Road, but this option isn’t ideal. You’ll just be transferred to a regular bus leaving from the Southern Bus Terminal — often with an added commission and extra waiting time. I don’t recommend this route.
Why the RRC Bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport Is the Best Option

The most comfortable way to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok is by taking the Roong Reuang Coach (RRC) bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Here’s why it stands out:
- Spacious seating – No need to squeeze next to strangers.
- Air-conditioned comfort – The bus stays cool throughout the ride, and you get a free bottle of water.
- Comfortable armrests – Four armrests for two seats means no fighting over elbow space.
- Non-stop service – No unnecessary stops, plus there’s an onboard toilet.
- Convenient schedule – Buses run nearly every hour throughout the day.
I’ve personally taken this bus. It took 4 hours from Bangkok to Hua Hin and just 3 hours on the return trip. The ticket costs 425 THB, and I booked it through 12Go Asia — it’s super convenient because you can reserve your seat and departure time in advance.

How to Find the Bus Station at Suvarnabhumi Airport
You can get to Suvarnabhumi Airport by metro (20–40 THB) or taxi.
Once at the airport, go down to the first floor near Gate 8. If you’re unsure where to go, just ask one of the airport staff — they’ll point you in the right direction.
Look for the Roong Reuang Coach sign. This is where you check in and print your online tickets.
Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Hua Hin Bus Schedule:

07:30, 08:30, 09:30, 10:30, 12:30, 14:30, 16:00, 17:00, 18:30
Right next to the bus area, there’s a food court where you can grab a tasty and affordable meal before your trip.

There’s also another option — the Bangkok Train Station (Hua Lamphong). From there, you can take an ordinary train at 9:00 AM that passes through Hua Hin and continues to Suan Son Pradipat Station. However, this is the slowest option — the journey takes just over 4 hours. Also, tickets from this station can’t be booked online — you’ll need to buy them in person at the station.
How to Buy Train Tickets from Bangkok to Hua Hin
There are several ways to purchase train tickets from Bangkok to Hua Hin:
- dticket.railway.co.th – This is the official website of the State Railway of Thailand. It’s a great option if you can pay using Thai QR code. They also have a mobile app. However, I don’t recommend paying by card — I once had a payment go through, but didn’t receive the ticket.
- 12Go Asia – A user-friendly booking service. You can pay with a credit card, but keep in mind that train tickets may not always be available.
- At the ticket counter – You can also buy your ticket in person at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.
